‘Nothing better’ - Wolves hero makes feelings clear after Bristol City drama
Wolves’ teenage starlet Sean Neave admitted he was in shock after his dramatic late double secured a remarkable comeback victory at Bristol City.
Super-sub Sean Neave declared there was ‘nothing better in football’ after his late double sent Wolves soaring into the automatic promotion places.
The teenage striker came off the bench to score twice in the closing stages of a remarkable comeback victory at Bristol City on Wednesday night, taking Wolves to within a point of the Championship summit ahead of their trip to Wrexham this weekend.
The 19-year-old was mobbed by his team-mates before celebrating in front of the jubilant travelling support as Cesar Peixoto’s side extended their unbeaten run to five matches.
“It was just elation, right in front of the fans, and you’ve got them singing. It means a lot,” said an ecstatic Neave.

“We’ve done that for our fans and for the club. To score two goals and have the fans singing your name, there’s nothing better in football.”
Neave sparked the comeback in the 82nd minute, pouncing on Adam Armstrong’s rebound before sealing a dramatic 2-1 victory with a header from a cleverly worked free-kick routine.
Still coming to terms with his remarkable intervention, he added: “I’m just in shock. My main aim when I came on was just to get involved in the game, make an impact and do what I could for the team.
“To come on and get two goals, it means a lot, especially in a game where we were losing and we’ve managed to turn it around and win 2-1. I’m still in shock, really. I haven’t got any words.
“It means a lot. You saw the fans’ reaction when we went 2-1 up. They just want to get back to the Premier League, and that’s what I want too. To get those two goals and the three points means so much. Those three points could mean so much at the end of the season. There’s a lot of football left to play, but it means a lot."

It was a breakthrough night for the Newcastle United loanee, who has now managed just 153 minutes of Championship football, with six of his eight appearances coming off the bench.
The victory lifted Wolves into second, just a point behind leaders Middlesbrough, as they strengthened their push for an immediate Premier League return.
And Neave knows the importance of the ground gained, adding: “It could mean so much. It’s going to be tight at the end of the season. We want to get to the Premier League, and we want to get promotion. So those three points could mean so much at the end of the season.”
