Big West Brom clash selected for live terrestrial TV

Albion’s trip to the north east has had its terrestrial television slot confirmed.

Albion’s trip to Middlesbrough at the end of August has been confirmed for live terrestrial television broadcast.

James Morrison’s men are on the road at the head coach’s former club Boro on Saturday, August 29.

The lunchtime clash at The Riverside Stadium will be shown on ITV1, for a 12.30pm kick-off.

It is one of five Championship clashes selected for live broadcast on the channel before the end of 2026.

Also selected are derbies involving Millwall and West Ham, Southampton and Portsmouth and Burnley and Blackburn, as well as Blues against West Ham.

It had already been confirmed that Albion’s trip north east had been selected for Sky Sports, but the clash will also be open for supporters to watch without a subscription, on terrestrial broadcaster ITV’s main channel.

The Boro Championship clash was one of five Baggies fixtures moved for broadcast in the first batch of games in the new campaign, including Saturday’s curtain-raiser in the EFL Cup at Rotherham, now a 5.30pm kick-off on Sky.

The opening home clash against Burnley on Sunday, August 23 is a midday kick-off and the visit of QPR to The Hawthorns on Saturday, September 12 is a lunchtime kick-off.

The first Black Country Derby of the season at Molineux takes place on Sunday, September 20 at midday in front of the Sky cameras.
