Shrewsbury Town academy graduate Isaac England has thanked his former school for its support on his journey to becoming a professional footballer.
The 18-year-old has paid tribute to his teachers at Shrewsbury School, where he completed his A-levels this year.

England progressed through the ranks at Salop after joining the club’s pre-academy at the age of five. He signed his first professional contract last summer and became a regular in the first team during the 2025/26 campaign.
The midfielder, who has featured regularly throughout Town’s pre-season, recognised the role his school played in helping him reach the milestone.
He said: “Training with the academy alongside being at Shrewsbury School has been pivotal to my development.
“The fantastic coaching, advice and support from the whole team of sports coaches at Shrewsbury School alongside top quality facilities has been a key part in my development so far.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have played a part in my journey so far, but a particular thank you must go to director of football, Steve Wilderspin, Will Hughes and Iain Sankey for their belief in me and continuing to push me to be the best I can be.”
In a social media post, Shrewsbury School described England signing his first professional contract with his boyhood club as “one of our proudest sporting moments”.
It added: “We wish Isaac every success in the future as he continues his professional football career.”
England signed a three-year deal with Shrewsbury last August and went on to make 16 League Two appearances during his breakthrough season before injury and illness hampered his progress in the closing months of the campaign.
The teenager returned to action before the end of the season and earned praise from manager Gavin Cowan, alongside fellow academy graduate Will Gray. He has since been a regular in Town’s midfield throughout pre-season.
