Shrewsbury Town forward has red card overturned following appeal
The Shrewsbury teenager will be available for their home clash against Gillingham this weekend.
Shrewsbury Town striker Kian McMahon-Brown has had the red card he received against Rotherham on Saturday overturned following an appeal.
Boss Gavin Cowan lodged an “extensive” appeal with the governing body Pro Ref - formerly PGMOL - against his controversial dismissal during the 3-3 draw at Rotherham.
The Burnley loanee was sent off after raising his hands to an opponent’s chest having been scythed down by a Millers’ player.
On the incident, Cowan said: “Yes absolutely, I think it’d be negligent for us not to appeal something like that.
“I’ve had good conversations with the guys at Pro Ref, being on the front foot trying to be proactive, Jayne (Bebb) our secretary has put together an extensive appeal.
“We’ve all contributed, my analyst Steve (Corns) and myself, just trying to pull together evidence of what from our perspective is a clear misjudgement.”
The 18-year-old will now be available for Shrews’ next League Two game against Gillingham at Croud Meadow on Saturday.
An FA statement read: "Kian McMahon-Brown's three-match suspension has been removed following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal"
