Shrewsbury Town fight back to claim first away point of season
Town earn well-deserved point at Crewe
Shrewsbury Town claimed their first away league point of the season, coming from behind to earn a well-deserved draw at Crewe.
After a promising start by Town, the hosts took the lead just past the midway point of the first half. Isaac Lee, starting for the first time this season, gave the ball away, and Joel Tabiner dinked in a cross for Jordan Gibson to rise above Luca Hoole and nod home from close range at the back post.

Shrewsbury responded when Boyle went close from a Kevin Berkoe long throw, and George Lloyd then levelled for Gavin Cowan's side.
He pounced on Luke Offord's poor header back to his goalkeeper and slipped the ball into an empty net.A good save from Will Brook then denied Jack Lankester, whose right-footed effort looked destined for the bottom corner, keeping the visitors level at the break.

Second halfWithin minutes of the restart, Boyle again found himself in a scoring position. Will Gray's sliced effort fell to the towering centre-back, but his close-range header was straight at the keeper.
At the other end, Hoole made a goal-saving block to deny Lankester, the Crewe number seven, when he looked certain to score.Kian McMahon-Brown looked bright all afternoon, but a number of his shots from distance missed the target.Heading into the final 20 minutes, it was anyone's game.
Isaac Fletcher's header was agonisingly close, striking the inside of the post but somehow staying out, and Brook made a huge late block to deny Offord. It looked like Crewe had won it in the final seconds, but the lineman’s flag went up for offside giving Town their first away point of the season in League Two.
