Shrewsbury Town defensive prospect signs first professional contract
Shrewsbury Town have tied down highly-rated defensive prospect Ollie Hall with a first pro deal.
Ollie Hall has described signing his first professional contract with Shrewsbury Town as a “dream come true”.
The central defender, who captains Salop’s under-18s, has signed a deal that will keep him at the Meadow until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Hall joined Town aged 15 and has progressed through the academy ranks, earning promotion to the first-team set-up towards the end of last season before making his senior debut in the EFL Trophy earlier this campaign.
“It’s a dream come true to sign my first professional contract with Shrewsbury,” Hall said after signing his deal.

“It’s a really proud moment for me and my family as it’s something I’ve been working towards for a long time.
“Since joining Shrewsbury at 15, I feel I’ve developed a lot as a player, and I’d like to thank everyone at the football club who has helped me along the way.
“Making my first-team debut earlier this season was a very special moment.
“Now I’m looking forward to working hard, continuing to learn and taking the next steps in my career.”
Hall was first named in a senior squad when Salop travelled to Bristol Rovers towards the end of last season.

He has since continued to impress boss Gavin Cowan, training regularly with the first team and featuring in EFL Trophy matches against Stockport County and Everton Under-21s.
Boss Cowan said: “Ollie Hall signing professional forms is another example, from my tenure, that we are committed to investing in youth and giving young players opportunities to progress into the first team.
“I'm a big believer that if you're good enough, you’re old enough, and it’s important that we identify players within our own system who can handle the intensity and demands of first-team football.

“What we have with Ollie is a player who is matching that intensity in training and improving all the time.
“He’s also a leader who conducts himself impeccably, both on the training ground and around the football club.
“We’re really pleased to have him on board, and we hope he can use this as a platform to continue moving forward.
“Nothing has been achieved yet, but this is a fantastic opportunity for Ollie to keep working hard and become the best version of himself.”
