‘I’ll give everything’ - Michael Golding’s Shrewsbury Town message after loan move
Michael Golding is ready to make his mark at Shrewsbury Town after completing his Leicester City loan switch.
Michael Golding is hoping he has struck gold at Shrewsbury Town after completing his loan switch from Leicester City.
The 20-year-old midfielder has joined Salop on a season-long deal and is now itching to cash in on his opportunity for regular first-team football.
Golding underwent his medical on Friday morning before putting pen to paper and training with Town ahead of their League Two clash with Salford City.

He said: “It’s been fantastic for me, going in, training with the boys. They have all been so welcoming to me and I can’t wait to get started on the pitch.
“I played Shrewsbury two years ago in a pre-season friendly and I know a lot about the club and its history. I just want to play first-team football, and I am really ready to help the team as much as I can.
“I can’t wait to get started playing games for Shrewsbury. I want to make an impact in the squad and give everything for the team.”
Golding arrives in Shropshire having made just one senior appearance for Leicester - in the Premier League in May last year - following his £4 million move to the Foxes from Chelsea.
The midfielder also boasts international pedigree, having represented both the Republic of Ireland and England. He captained England at the Uefa European Under-17 Championship in summer 2023.
“It was truly an honour and privilege to captain my country,” he added. “Hopefully I can take those leadership skills and help the team here.”
Golding made his Chelsea debut in the FA Cup in January 2024 under then-boss Mauricio Pochettino and is now looking to bring his creativity and attacking threat to Town.
He said: “I would say I am an exciting, creative player with an eye for goal, and who will give 110 per cent for the team.”
