Could Cowan unleash his new loanees? Shrewsbury Town predicted team

Our Shrewsbury Town predicted team vs Fleetwood Town.

A week on, I find myself saying the same thing: it’s hard to predict.

By his own admission, Gavin Cowan does not know which Shrewsbury Town team will turn up. Hopefully, it will be a resilient one - and one capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.

Town need a response after their heavy midweek defeat, and I expect Cowan to make changes once again.

Arkell Jude-Boyd endured a difficult night at Fleetwood Town 10 days ago, but after two games on the bench, he could be ready to return and make an impact. That may depend on Josh Ruffels’ fitness, with Luca Hoole potentially moving back into a central role to open the door for Jude-Boyd.

Michael Golding and Kian McMahon-Brown both earned praise from Cowan after making their debuts at Rochdale, so they could now be given the chance to make their case from the start.

In goal, you would imagine Sam Proctor’s push for a first appearance is getting stronger, while midfield remains difficult to call after Town struggled to find the right combination in recent games.

So, here is our best guess at the Shrewsbury side for this weekend…

Shrewsbury Town predicted XI vs Fleetwood Town

Starting XI (3-4-1-2): Brook, Hoole, Boyle, Anderson; Jude-Boyd, Sang, Golding, Berkoe; McMahon-Brown; Davison, Gbode.

Subs: Proctor, Lee, Sousa, England, Turner-Cooke, Fletcher, Lloyd.
