Head coach Gavin Cowan reflected on his first full week of training with Salop and confirmed there are no new injury concerns ahead of their trip to Colchester United tomorrow (Saturday, February 7).

Anthony Scully returned to the starting XI after injury for Cowan's first game in charge against Barnet, and as of Friday, only striker Bradley Ihionvien remains sidelined.

Speaking about preparations, Cowan said: "The pitches are really soft so it's really difficult.

"4G isn't ideal but we were really lucky that the foundation gave us the opportunity to train next to the ground.

"That was a real blessing because it gave us an opportunity to go into some detail of what we really want to do.

"Naturally, some of the lads have aching joints a little bit today, puffy knees etc.

"There are no injury worries other than Bradley Ihionvien. Everybody's chomping at the bit.

"I wanted to get into mine and the staff's plans. It's been a really good week of working. Myself, Dave, Jamie and Steve Parrish have been working really hard just to try and get things done.

"I'm really thankful to the analysts, the strength and conditioning coach, the physios, the kitman, the chef, everybody's been battening down the hatches.

"Everybody has been going way above and beyond because they're buying into this process that I'm talking about, and this togetherness that is going to be key in us remaining in the league."

Cowan faces his first away test with a Shrewsbury side who currently boast the worst away record in League Two.

Salop have lost their last four away league matches, conceding 10 goals in that run - including five in the heavy defeat at MK Dons - while scoring just twice in return.
