The London Road outfit tasted defeat on home soil on the final weekend of the Premier One season at the hands of Ombersley.

Batting first, Shrewsbury were reduced to 51-5 before Seb Scott and skipper Lewis Evans staged a fight back.

Scott (53) and Evans (52) shared a 100-run stand for the sixth wicket, but after they fell in quick succession, Shrewsbury were bowled out for 161. Opener Finn Jones (17) was the only other batter to reach double figures. Ishaan Arora took 4-35.

In reply, Seth Essenhigh made an unbeaten 107 as the visitors raced to victory, reaching 163-6 in the 28th over. The loss saw Shrewsbury finish ninth.

At the top of the table, Knowle & Dorridge were crowned champions for the third time at the mid-innings interval of their visit to Kenilworth Wardens.

By this point they had clinched the three batting bonus points which took them out of the reach of 2025 and 2024 winners Smethwick. They went on to secure a 35-run DLS win

In Premier Division Two, already-relegated Worfield finished their stint in the Birmingham League on a high with a resounding 62-run victory Berkswell, who had already secured the runners-up spot and promotion behind champions Attock.

Aman Hussain was the star of the show for Worfield as he stroked his way to 101 off 95 deliveries.

He shared a fifth-wicket partnership of 115 with Arthur Smallman (48) as the hosts piled up 303-7. Will Cook had earlier made 34 while Rohel Peters chipped in with 29.

In reply, Berkswell were bowled out for 241 by a home attack which was well led by Joe Arnold, who picked up 4-49, while Shahrukh Khan claimed 2-34. Skipper Chris Whittock top-scored for the visitors with 65.

Shifnal missed out on a top three finish after losing by five wickets in an entertaining clash at Leamington.

Opener Howard Insall made 34, but it was a superb 166-run fourth wicket partnership between Ben Lees (88) and skipper Charlie Home (77) that fired Shifnal to 279-9 from their 50 overs. Leg-spinner Jason Jakeman picked up four wickets for the home side.

But a 155-run partnership between Yash Gupta (116) and captain Jonathan Wigley (64) then inspired the Warwickshire side to 281-5 with an over in hand.

The victory saw Leamington claim third place while Shifnal had to be content with a fifth-placed finish.
