'We don't accept TikTok money': West Midlands chippy says '£30 notes? Nice try!'

Forget battered cod - the latest thing getting fried is the idea that imaginary TikTok £30 notes can buy your fish and chips at a popular Dudley chippy.

Customers at Nemo's Fish & Chips in Lower Gornal have been left chuckling after the Dudley chippy issued a tongue-in-cheek public service announcement reminding everyone that TikTok trends don't rewrite British currency.

The shop joked: "PSA: We don't accept TikTok money. These £30 notes aren't real, no matter how many videos you've seen!"

While the internet is full of bizarre trends, the friendly reminder serves as a light-hearted nudge that fish suppers still require actual legal tender.

Nemo’s on Lake Street told the Express & Star: “They mentioned that they saw people use it over TikTok videos and asked if was legal tender.”

Locals praised the post for its sense of humour. Thankfully, there were no reports of anyone genuinely trying to pay for cod, chips and mushy peas with mythical banknotes.
