Plans to build 20 affordable homes in Telford have moved a step closer to fruition after councillors granted outline planning permission for the scheme.
The proposal was before Telford & Wrekin Council's plans board last night.
Members heard that the development off Park Road, Dawley Bank, would include a mix of rented and shared ownership properties.
Board member, Councillor Roy Picken, said: "I favour the affordable housing here. Look at the shortage of housing in the borough. Any opportunity we get to provide rented housing we should take."
Only one letter of objection was received by the board, from the neighbouring factory.
Owners had expressed concern over parking provision and play provision.
But councillors were reminded the application was only for outline planning permission at this stage.
The board approved the plans unanimously.
