Telford printing firm in administration placing around 160 jobs under threat
Administrators are now running affairs at Precision Colour Printing as they explore options and hunt for a buyer
A Telford printing company has been placed into administration, putting around 160 jobs under threat.
Financial services firm Alvarez & Marsal is now looking after affairs at Precision Colour Printing as they explore options for the business including new ownership.
At this stage, no redundancies have been made. Based on Halesfield, PCP prints magazines, catalogues and brochures.
Mike Denny and Michael Magnay, from Alvarez & Marsal, were appointed joint administrators of the business on Thursday.
A brief statement issued by the firm said: "On August 27, Mike Denny and Michael Magnay of global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal were appointed joint administrators of Precision Colour Printing.
"Based in Telford, the company provides hard-copy and digital commercial printing services, specialising in magazines and catalogues.
"The appointment provides a formal framework for safeguarding the company's business and assets while the joint administrators rapidly explore the options available, including whether a sale of the business can be delivered."
PCP operates from a 14-acre site and runs three web presses.

Earlier this week, reports emerged in the trade press that clients including music magazine The Wire and Mendip Times, a community newspaper based in Somerset, had been forced to approach rival publishers after PCP had failed to complete their orders.
PCP has experienced increasing financial pressure and unrest following a series of buyouts in recent years.
It was sold by long-term owner Claverley Group in 2024 to investment firm Hypax.
Former chairman Stewart Hussey, via holding company Premu Print Holdco, then acquired the business in June 2025 and it was offloaded to a new company called Precision Colour Media in March of this year.
Earlier this month, filings on Companies House show that PCP managing director Nick Evans and finance director Nick Denning left the company.
According to its most recently filed accounts for the year 2024, the company posted a revenue of £27.9 million, a drop of £3.6 million on 2023.
