Show tickets selling fast

Organisers of the 1980s summer concert in Shrewsbury's Quarry today described ticket sales as "phenomenal" with nearly 5,000 already sold.

Rick Astley, Bananarama, Midge Ure, Heaven 17, Toyah and Nick Heyward will join the county's own chart-topper T'Pau for a three-hour "Here and Now: Magic of the 1980s" show on July 12.

Chris Bailey, event manager for organisers IML Concerts, said: "We are selling 650 tickets a week, it is absolutely phenomenal.

"We have now sold in excess of 4,700, it may well break the record."
