Red Arrows challenge takes off as RAF museum launches summer fundraiser

The RAF Museum has launched a summer fundraiser inspired by the iconic Red Arrows
The RAF Museum has announced a new nationwide fundraising initiative inspired by one of Britain’s most recognisable aerobatic teams.
Running from August 1 to October 3, the Red Arrows Challenge invites supporters to walk, run or cycle any distance of their choosing to help raise money for the RAF Museum’s work preserving Royal Air Force history.
Participants can complete their chosen distance anywhere and at their own pace. Everyone who finishes the challenge will receive a limited‑edition commemorative coin celebrating the Red Arrows.
Sophie Wallace, the museum’s regular giving development manager, said the team hopes the challenge will motivate people to tackle personal goals while supporting the charity’s mission.

“Few sights capture people’s imagination quite like the Red Arrows,” she said. “Every mile completed, and every pound raised, will help ensure the extraordinary stories of the Royal Air Force continue to inspire future generations.”
Those who raise £50 or more will receive a special Red Arrows thank‑you pack. Additional prizes include tickets to the RAF Air Show in June 2027, including a meet‑and‑greet with members of the Red Arrows for the top adult and family fundraisers.
A goody bag will be awarded to the participant who covers the greatest distance, with another winner chosen at random. A virtual leaderboard will track progress throughout the event.
The Red Arrows, known for their precision flying, dramatic formations and red, white and blue vapour trails, perform at major events across the UK and overseas.
Funds raised by the challenge go to support the RAF Museum’s charitable work, including its upcoming exhibition The RAF: 1980 to Today, which will feature a British Aerospace Hawk T1A flown by the Red Arrows.
Adult entry costs £22, children £11, and members of the Armed Forces community £16.50, with an additional £5 postage fee for non‑UK entries. To find out more and sign up, visit rafmuseum.org.
