A Telford roundabout has undergone major drainage improvements and resurfacing as part of a £400,000 investment.

Months of roadworks at Limekiln Bank Roundabout in Telford have come to an end as improvements have been completed.

The scheme aimed to improve road conditions, reduce future maintenance requirements and strengthen drainage at one of the town’s key traffic junctions.

Work including the installation of five new gullies and 60 metres of new carrier drain, alongside the resurfacing of approximately 9,400 square metres of carriageway.

Over the next three weeks, work is taking place on nearby Telford Way - including repairs, drainage cleansing and renewed road markings on 600 square metres of carriageway.

While the work is underway, the road from Limekiln Bank Roundabout to Priorslee Roundabout will be closed.

The closure, which came into place on Tuesday, October 27, will be in force until November 18.

“Limekiln Roundabout is a key route used by thousands of motorists every day, so it is important that we continue to invest in maintaining and improving this busy section of the network,” said Councillor Nathan England, cabinet member for safer streets and better housing.

"This £400,000 scheme will not only provide a high-quality new road surface but will also improve drainage, helping to reduce future maintenance needs and improve resilience in wet weather.

"We appreciate that highway works can cause some temporary disruption, but these improvements deliver long-term benefits for road users and help keep people moving around the Borough."
