Craig Nigel Dunn, 33, of Willowfield, Woodside, Telford, is accused of murdering Mr Powell on April 29 last year. He denies the charge.

Mr Taylor said he had found four pairs of tyre marks at the scene and the car would have been facing Telford Town Centre when it was first reversed over Mr Powell's body. He added: "In my opinion the tyre tracks were caused by a vehicle under harsh acceleration and deceleration."

He said the vehicle was driven forward about 23 metres. Tests found tissue from Mr Powell's body under the car.

Under cross examination, he said: "It is possible that some of the wheels may have run over the casualty and some did not.

"It's also possible that none of the wheels went over him and he was struck by the underside of the carriage as it passed over him."

Darren Cole, who had known Mr Powell for 15 years, told yesterday's hearing he had bought crack cocaine from him at his home the night before his death .
