Olivia-Violet was killed last Thursday when she was struck by a 4x4 on Mytton Oak Road, Shrewsbury, as she made her way to a bus stop.

She was rushed to the nearby Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital where she died.

The family released a statement earlier this week in which they described Olivia-Violet as an "inspiration" with a "kind heart and beautiful smile".

They added: "The world had so much more to show Olivia-Violet and she had so much more to discover."

Now Sharon Munro, headteacher of St George’s Junior School, has spoken of the deep sadness the children and staff at the school are experiencing in the wake of the tragic incident.

She explained how Olivia-Violet was a keen ukulele player who wanted to be a marine biologist when she grew up.

Children at the school have made a memorial to Olivia-Violet where they can share memories of her.

Flowers left at the scene

Ms Munro said said: "Olivia-Violet was a passionate, spirited individual who had creative aptitude and a witty persona. Her bubbly approach to learning and contributing to school life will be sadly missed by the St George’s community.

"Her caring nature for marine life became apparent on the recent residential trip to Arthog, where she amazed staff and peers with her substantial knowledge around this subject and shared her future aspirations to become a marine biologist.

"As a keen ukulele player, Olivia-Violet’s love for music and percussion brought enjoyment and fun to the clubs she attended and audiences she performed to.

"Pupils at the school have dedicated a memorial area to reminisce on personal experiences and encounters shared with Olivia-Violet. All staff and pupils at St George’s Junior School will always fondly remember the vibrant character of Olivia-Violet Reeves.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and we ask that people continue to respect their privacy at this very difficult time."
