A stolen car is set to be returned to its owners after it was spotted by a member of the public out on a run.
Police in south Shropshire have recovered a stolen Land Rover Defender after it was found by a jogger 40 miles from where it was taken - less than an hour after an appeal went out.
Officers were alerted on Wednesday, May 20, to reports that the Defender had been stolen near Clun.
A public appeal was then issued on the police messaging service, Neighbourhood Matters, and, within 45 minutes, a jogger recognised the vehicle while out on a run.
Police were notified immediately and the Defender was swiftly recovered.
Officers said the vehicle is now awaiting forensic examination before being returned to its owners.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Thank you to the public for their help in locating the stolen Land Rover, which held great sentimental value for its owners.”
