Genesis GV60 Magma to start from £75,915

High-performance model will manage 0-60mph in under 3.4 seconds.
The new Genesis GV60 Magma will go on sale later this summer, priced from £75,915.
The high-performance model – which represents a move from the Korean brand into more dynamic territory and away from its traditionally luxury-focused area – is based on the standard GV60 electric SUV but brings several tweaks.
Chief among these is the car’s power output, with its dual electric motors bringing 641bhp and 790Nm of torque, enabling a 0-60mph time of under 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 164mph.

It’s expected that the Magma will return a range of around 270 miles, and Genesis says that a 10 to 80 per cent charge can be completed in 18 minutes when the car is connected to a rapid charger.
The GV60 Magma also benefits from a 20mm drop in ride height over the standard car, while new 21-inch forged alloy wheels sit in front of four-piston calipers and 400mm front brake discs. Visual changes include a large rear spoiler and redesigned bumpers.

Inside, there are 10-way adjustable suede bucket seats with contrast stitching and a variety of aluminium detailing. The steering wheel also gets a dedicated driver mode selector with a bespoke ‘Magma’ button. A newly-designed e-Active Sound Design system – or e-ASD – aims to provide an ‘authentic engine tone’ which relates to the accelerator position to bring a more involving driving experience.
As with the standard GV60, the Magma brings a 27-inch wraparound infotainment system, which brings together media and driver information functions.
When launched in July, the GV60 Magma will only be available in its launch specification, though buyers will be able to choose from nine different exterior colours, including Magma Orange and Matterhorn White Matte, alongside two interior designs.
