Speakers revealed for Shropshire tourism event

The owner of vineyard and a food festival director will be among those appearing at the chamber of commerce event

The line up of speakers has been revealed for an event focussed on Shropshire's tourism and hospitality sector.

The chamber of commerce event will welcome Mark Hooper from Visit Shropshire, Beth Heath from Shropshire Festivals and Katie Greenow of Veenow Vineyard at Waters Upton.

Mr Hooper will explain how an AI-powered footfall and visitor analytics platform can help the sector make more informed planning decisions while Ms Heath, whose company organises Shrewsbury Food Festival, will share how events boost the local economy.

Ms Greenow will discuss how sustainability drives her vineyard and look at some of the opportunities which climate change brings for English wine production.

Following the speakers' presentations, there will be dedicated time for networking.

Chamber events and training manager Grace Bywater said: "Tourism and leisure is one of the most dynamic and important parts of our local economy.

"We're proud to bring together such a strong line-up of speakers who understand the challenges and opportunities facing businesses on the ground.

"It's going to be an energising evening for anyone working in hospitality, tourism or leisure. This is a great chance to connect with others shaping Shropshire's hospitality, tourism and leisure sector."

The event takes place at The Wroxeter Hotel near Shrewsbury and runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on September 10. Visit the chamber website to book a place.
