Shrewsbury-based law firm achieves B Corp status

Aaron & Partners started thinking about applying for the international recognised certification three years ago

Law firm Aaron & Partners has achieved B Corp status.

The Shrewsbury-based firm was awarded the certification following an independent assessment of its social and environmental impact, including how it supports its people, contributes to communities, manages its environmental impact and governs the business.

It has become one of only a small number to be awarded internationally renowned certification.

Aaron & Partners achieved an overall score of 84, clearing the 80-point threshold required.

The firm first began exploring B Corp more than three years ago, starting a wider review of its impact on its people, communities and the environment.

Partner Helen Johnson said: "There's been a huge amount of work behind this so finally getting the B Corp certification over the line is a big moment for us and a milestone we're exceptionally proud of.

"The process has made us look closely at how we operate as a firm - what we're doing well, where we're making a difference, and where we still have work to do.

"It was particularly pleasing to see the work around our people and communities reflected positively in the assessment.

"Those are things we care a lot about and people across the firm invest a lot of time to make sure we really stand out as a local employer of choice."
