Harry's Beer is the brainchild of 20-year-old Shrewsbury student Harriet Easton, a politics undergraduate at Newcastle University.

For a limited period it will be available exclusively through Harry Tuffins' six stores in Shropshire and Mid Wales. Harriet created the bottle conditioned beer after she launched a cask version in December 2007 at the Salopian Bar in Shrewsbury.

The launch was attended by CAMRA chairman Paula Walters.

Now Harriet, who runs the The Rushing Dolls Company, says the bottled version is designed specifically to appeal to the female palate and marketed to female consumers. She said: "Harry's Beer generated huge national and international interest when I first launched it as a real ale in cask in December last year.

"We had e-mails from all over the UK as well as the USA, South Africa, Australia, Mexico, Belgium and Holland among others, all asking where they could get hold of the beer in bottles.

"Then some of the UK's major supermarkets expressed an interest in the product.

"We've worked flat out over the last nine months to be in a position to take Harry's Beer to the retail market."

Harriet said she was excited to be selling the beer in her own county.
