Market Drayton-based Joule’s Brewery is once again organising the town’s annual Turkey Trot.

People can walk or run through the town, leaving the town’s Red Lion at 11am on Sunday after coffee and warm-ups.

All participants are encouraged to dress in festive attire for the occasion.

Vicky Shirley, brand manager at Joule’s Brewery, said: "The 5k Christmas fun run is a spectacle of Christmas characters and one not to be missed. It has become a popular annual event.

"There will be warm ups and coffee from 10am at the Red Lion, Market Drayton, with the trot starting at 11am and mince pies and a pint of Joule’s on offer for all runners at the finish line.

"The 5k trot, which can be ran, jogged or walked by adults, children and dogs, will leave the brewery at 11am and continue through the historic town of Market Drayton.

"It is a fantastically fun event with everyone in high spirits. It really captures the community Christmas spirit."

Joule’s has also donated a ‘Beer in Box’, containing 36 pints of Joule’s Ale, for the best fancy dressed adult runner, a bucket of sweets for the for the best fancy dressed child and a string of sausages for the best dressed dog.

Entry to the trot is £6 and forms can be found at The Red Lion Inn, Fix Auto Market Drayton and The Lord Hill.

"However, there is limited availability and therefore it would be encouraged to get a trot on and sign up to avoid disappointment. Nevertheless entry on the day should still be possible but of course this will be subject to availability," Ms Shirley added.
