Along with brothers Charles and John she featured in the Shropshire Star 47 years ago.

After growing up in Mid Wales, she studied fine art at John Moores University in Liverpool, before moving to New Zealand to start a successful teaching and art career.

Now 20 years after he first ever exhibition in Oswestry, the triplet is back for three months to show her work in the town where it all began.

The 'summer exhibition' on landscapes, which Sally-Ann specialises in will run from August 19 to September 23 in the Willow Gallery in Oswestry.

The artist said she was known in the area for being one of the 'triplets' in 1970 and is excited about returning to showcase her work 20 years on from her first exhibition in the town.

She said: "It is exciting to be back after all these years.

"Mum and Dad have kept all the cuttings and photographs from when we were in the newspapers all those years ago.

"We were well known for it in the local area, being the triplets, but it isn't really talked about anymore.

"I went over to New Zealand as an art teacher but my main passion is my art work and exhibiting it and it is something I want to do more and more.

"It was 20 years ago when I had my first work exhibited in the Walls restaurant in Oswestry where I had a part time job at the time.

"So to come back to where I had my first piece exhibited is fantastic and I am very much looking forward to having my work in the Willow Gallery."

Sally-Ann, who graduated with her degree back in 1994 spent a couple of years in Yorkshire before moving to New Zealand and has settled there for the last 17 years.

Currently she is on a sabbatical from her job at a high school in Taup and will be exhibiting elsewhere in the coming months.

She has been selected for an art residency in Tuscany at La Macina di San Cresci near Florence and plans to visit schools in the area as a research project on the influence of technology in schools in the 21st Century.

She added: "When I return I want to be doing a lot more of exhibiting work and selling more work.

"It is my passion and it is nice to come back and share my work where it first started."
