The fair brought attractions and hundreds of visitors to Fordhall Organic Farm, near Market Drayton.

Entertainment was provided by Jester Jack with a rendition of his 'fool and the dragon story' in honour of St George's Day, while Hawkeye Falconry provided two flight demonstrations and the chance to handle the birds.

Children also took part in pond dipping expeditions and almost 300 enjoyed a tractor ride around the farm.

Events officer Maria Bagnall said: "We could not have asked for better weather. The sunshine was glorious and the whole event went so well.

"The Fordhall dog show went down a storm with lots of pooches taking away a 'top dog' certificate.

"Dan's Cannons was with us again and the public got to see six shots of the famous 'dragon cannon' throughout the day. It was an amazing day."

Ben Hollins, tenant farmer, said: "The event was an overall success and great fun, but a highlight for me was while takingquestions from the public one of the cows started to look like she would calf.

The farm is also hosting a green foraging walk and lunch on Sunday. Tickets costing £30 must be booked in advance on 01630 638696.
