Staff at the Exotic Zoo are still preparing their new premises at Lakeside Plant Centre, in Priorslee, Telford, but will give visitors the chance to see spring lambs, chicks and other animals.

Scott Adams, owner and founder of the zoo, said: "We're a long way off from the full open but we wanted to give people the chance to interact with the chicks, see the lambs being bottle fed and get a feel for the work we're doing.

"Entry will be £2, just to help out towards the animals feed. Any money we make will go straight back into the zoo."

Building work has been on-going for several months.

But with the lease on their previous site due to end this month, the team had to increase its efforts.

"It's been very intense with all the builders on site," Mr Adams said.

"Unfortunately, you go through a phase where it looks worse before it looks better.

"There's places that used to be beautiful and grassy but they're just mud now. It's getting towards that end goal."

The zoo will remain open from Saturday until April 23. Admission is £2.
