About 13 exhibitions were displayed in St Leonard's Church in Bridgnorth for one of the group's biggest events of the year.

Show chairman Glyn Lucas said some of the flowers on display were rare. He added: "It was a very good, we had quite a lot of visitors through. We had little children right through to older people.

"Everybody was saying how nice it was to see the flowers in the church. There was a lot of people taking photographs.

"The daffodils aren't what you normally see in gardens, some of them can cost up to £25 a bulb each.

"It's something a little bit different. The society has been going for nearly 30 years now and we've had a spring show for about 20 years, the summer show has been going a bit longer.

"The summer show will be held on the first Saturday of August."

Judging the displays was David Bates, from Solihull.

The best exhibit in show trophy was handed to Richard Spiers of Wombourne for a vase of three daffodils.

The GF Rutter trophy was awarded to Verity Lucas of Chelmarsh for her tulips.

Bridgnorth Horticultural Society holds monthly meetings where there is a guest speaker.
