Oswestry Christmas Music Live celebrates its 12th year when it opens at 6pm on Friday when thousands are expected to descend on the town.

Organised by the town council, working closely with the chamber of commerce, it began as a way to draw people to the town for late-night shopping.

Fairground rides will be set up in Oswestry's main streets and the pedestrian area will become a Christmas market, full of stalls and street food, leading up to the town's indoor market on the Bailey Head.

That will also be the site of the main stage where Porthywaen Silver Band will play Christmas carols with music by local choirs and groups. This year's headline act will be Like Minded.
