Sir Peter Wright's show will feature at Birmingham Hippodrome from November 25 to December 13.

The world-acclaimed production with its classic story, glorious dancing and instantly recognisable music, played by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, has captured the hearts and imaginations of generations of theatregoers. It has become an annual tradition and, for many, it is true to say Christmas starts with the show.

The Nutcracker was Sir Peter's gift to the city of Birmingham in the year he led the Company from London to its new home at Birmingham Hippodrome in 1990.

And 26 successful years later, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Birmingham Hippodrome will be honoured when Sir Peter joins them for the opening night performance to celebrate his 90th birthday.

Tickets start at £19 and are available from www.birminghamhippodrome.com or 0844 338 5000.
