The record-breaker, who has already run more marathons in a year than any other person, expects to run between the UK's two further points in eight and a half days.

The 32-year-old, who now lives in Penkridge, first attempted the challenge five weeks ago but was forced to give up.

He said: "I'm ready for it this time.

"I've got the Co-Op sponsoring me with food and I've got good support.

"I've had posters and van sides made up.

"A lot of things will be different and I'm going to have the proper trainers this time.

"I think the hardest part will be between Shrewsbury and Preston so any injuries will really show.

"I have been ill the past two days as well, which has not been the best."

Mr Vaz completed his 311th marathon in 280 days when he finished the London event over the weekend.

He has raised £15,000 through his running exploits and collected £1,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation through his latest challenge. To sponsor Mr Vaz visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving and search his name.
