A video clip filmed at the Welshpool Winter Festival has become the latest internet hit.

It shows singer John Hughes – known as Farmer John – entertaining onlookers as local shopkeeper Christine Holmes, of Flaunt It Card and Gift Shop, dances around dressed as an inflated turkey.

In a few days the video has already attracted more than 6,000 views.

Christine, 50, said the dancing in Puzzle Square was a "spontaneous bit of fun" which she never expected to be an online hit.

"We're a nice little shopping area off the main street which gets fairly busy. We thought we'd show them we could have a bit of fun," she said.

"Listening to the music, I danced without even realising. It wasn't staged. I didn't know it was being filmed until my friend called me and I looked around.

"It was just a spontaneous thing to put on. I drew the short straw of the turkey outfit but it was quite warm actually and it was quite weatherproof. It's great fun. Everyone should have one. It's easy to dance in, I just had natural rhythm.

"It just seemed to be so funny. It was a good giggle so we put the video on Facebook.

"We can't believe how many views it's had. It's had between 5,000 and 6,000 views now. It's amazing."
