Snow is falling as part of a Christmas show projected onto the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, while music is completing the interactive audio-visual experience.

The projections have been created by new media light artist Andy McKeown.

Shrewsbury BID manager Kirsten Henly said: "Andy is a leading multimedia artist and his projections will be transforming one of the town's most iconic buildings.

"His interactive Christmas backdrop will be a great addition to a busy night in town."

The light show is part of a concerted effort to encourage more people to shop in Shrewsbury at Christmas.

Free parking has been made available for late night shoppers from 4pm in Frankwell Main, St Julian's Friars and Abbey Foregate car parks.

Shrewsbury's Christmas programme continues on Saturday with the Christmas Farmers' Market in The Square.

Father Christmas will be meeting and greeting children in his grotto until December 23.
