Former Hollyoaks actor Jeremy Edwards and Nicole Faraday from Bad Girls and Emmerdale are among the cast for the show, which runs until January 3.

The cast face a hectic round of matinee and evening performances.

The much-loved fairytale will form part of a traditional panto, although producers promise plenty of jokes at the expense of Telford and its rival Shrewsbury as well.

And the theatre is also repeating its 'relaxed' shows towards the end of the run, when sound and lighting will be turned down to make it more suitable to young children or those who can find theatre unsettling.

The special performance will even include a quiet zone where people can unwind and then return to the auditorium when they are ready.

Tickets for the panto at Oakengates Theatre start at £9.50.
