Youngsters could meet AFC Telford United heroes at Summer Soccer School
Young football fans can enjoy six weeks of football fun at AFC Telford United
Youngsters could have the chance to meet their heroes from AFC Telford United’s first team during this year’s Summer Soccer School at the SEAH Stadium in Wellington.
The AFC Telford United Foundation Summer Soccer School will run every weekday from 9am to 3pm, starting on July 20 and running until August 28 at the club’s Goal Zone.
Designed for children aged 5-11, the school will be a mix of football training with professional coaches and fun tournaments, alongside stadium tours and fun learning workshops.
And on selected days throughout the summer, players from AFC Telford United’s first team will join youngsters to enjoy playing football in a fun environment.
Tom Elliott, AFC Telford United Foundation Manager, said: “This year’s Summer Soccer School is set to be our best yet, with six weeks of great football related activities planned.
“We’ve got a programme of events that will not only keep youngsters engaged and active during the day, but they’ll go back home keen to continue learning!
“Every year, the Foundation works with over 800 young people during the summer holidays and we’re looking to increase that number over the next few month.
“We’ve been lucky enough to have some of the AFC Telford United first team players agree to join us on selected days, so for youngsters who are involved it will be a truly memorable summer.”
The cost of attending the camp is £18 per day, or £75 for five days, with early drop off and pick up also available.
Tom added: “We know that the summer holidays are difficult for many families, which is why we’ve worked hard to keep to cost as low as possible, alongside extended opening times.
“AFC Telford United Foundation works in the heart of our community, which is what we want as many young people as possible to have a great summer with us at the SEAH Stadium.
“We are also offering a Holiday Hunger programme, alongside other outreach programmes throughout the community in Telford. Summer should always be a time for children to make lifelong memories.
“It is exciting that as we approach the six weeks holidays, we have a programme of activities to suit every single child in the borough.” To book a place, email [email protected]
