Wildlife documentary stars heading to Shrewsbury
Female wildlife presenters and filmmakers will share their stories at Theatre Severn as part of a new UK tour
Female wildlife presenters, filmmakers and camera operators behind some of the world's best-loved nature documentaries are heading to Shrewsbury as part of a new UK tour.

Wild Women Live – The Tour will visit 29 venues across the country in spring 2027, including Theatre Severn on Friday, April 16.
The show will bring together women from across the natural history world to share stories of their careers, experiences in the field and the challenges of capturing wildlife on camera.

The Shrewsbury line-up will include broadcaster Michaela Strachan, known for The Really Wild Show, Countryfile and Springwatch, alongside wildlife camera operator and presenter Anna Dimitriadis, conservationist Megan McCubbin and broadcaster Naomi Wilkinson.
The group will shine a spotlight on the women working behind the lens and in front of the camera, from filming big cats and diving beneath Antarctic ice to conservation, environmental investigation and wildlife storytelling.

Anna Dimitriadis said the tour would bring together women from different disciplines and generations, united by their courage, skill and determination to explore the natural world.
Michaela Strachan said the show would be "inspiring, candid and alive with the humour and unpredictability of working in the wild".

She added that Wild Women Live was for anyone who had marvelled at the natural world on screen, as well as encouraging the next generation of girls and young women to consider careers in conservation, wildlife filmmaking and broadcasting.
Tickets for the Shrewsbury show are on sale now through the tour's website or directly from Theatre Severn.
