Oswestry's historic Llwyd Mansion to take centre stage at special Heritage Open Days event
A morning of illustrated talks will explore the history of one of Oswestry's most iconic buildings and reveal the latest plans to secure its future
The history of one of Oswestry's most iconic buildings will be explored during a special morning of talks as part of this year's Heritage Open Days programme.

Llwyd Mansion, the distinctive 15th-century half-timbered building at the junction of Bailey Street and Cross Street, is currently at the centre of a major project aimed at preserving the historic property for future generations.
The event, at the Attfield Theatre within Oswestry's Guildhall on Saturday, September 12, will provide an update on the project, known as Framing the Future, as well as exploring the building's long and colourful history.
Three illustrated talks will look at Llwyd Mansion and some of the people who have owned the building over the centuries, as well as those who made their living there.
They include grocers, shoemakers, printers and tea merchants, many of whom lived above their shops.
The talks will be given by project manager Samantha Jones and local historian John Pryce-Jones.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to view a selection of original documents from Oswestry Town Council's archives, including material relating directly to Llwyd Mansion.
The event runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm and is free to attend.
Places can be booked through Eventbrite or the Heritage Open Days website.
