North Shropshire Orchestra welcomes new members for new season
The community orchestra is inviting musicians of all ages to join
North Shropshire Orchestra has begun its 2026/27 season and is inviting musicians of all ages and abilities to join.

The community orchestra is back to weekly rehearsals at the Musgrave Centre at Moreton Hall School, where it meets every Monday during term time from 5pm to 6pm.
Now in its eighth year, the orchestra attracts players from across north Shropshire and the Welsh border, from school-age beginners to adults returning to an instrument after many years.
The group performs a varied repertoire, including classical music, film scores and pop arrangements, and works towards at least two concerts each year.
Rehearsals are led by professional musicians, with guest tutors joining for occasional workshops and masterclasses.
Amy Lott, director of music at Moreton Hall, said: "This is about giving local players somewhere welcoming to build their confidence and their ensemble skills, and to meet other musicians in the area.
"Some of our members have been with us for years, and others walked in for the first time last week. Both are equally welcome."
To mark the start of the new season, North Shropshire Music is holding a free open rehearsal on Monday, September 14, from 5pm to 6pm.
Anyone interested in joining is welcome to watch the rehearsal, ask questions or bring along an instrument and take part.
Musicians are encouraged to register their interest in advance, although they can also simply turn up with their instrument on a Monday evening. For more information, contact Amy Lott at [email protected].
