Community invited to try new sports at Lilleshall open day this weekend

Lilleshall National Sports Centre is inviting the local community to enjoy a day of free activities on Sunday (August 2), giving visitors the chance to explore its facilities and try a range of sports.

Starting at 10am and running through to 2pm, visitors of all ages and abilities can take part in a variety of free taster sessions and demonstrations, including badminton, pickleball, table tennis and squash, as well as inclusive sports such as wheelchair basketball and boccia.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet local sports clubs, explore the site's world-class facilities and find out more about the activities and opportunities available at the centre all year round.

Howard Hastings, Active Communities Manager for Lilleshall, said: "Our Community Open Day is a fantastic opportunity for people to discover everything the centre has to offer, try something new and meet the clubs and organisations that make our community so vibrant. Whether you're looking to take up a new activity, find opportunities for your family or simply enjoy a great day out, we'd love to welcome you."

From sports pitches to gymnastics facilities, outdoor spaces and community clubs, the Open Day will showcase the wide range of sporting and physical activity opportunities available at the centre.
