Albrighton & District Historical Society will welcome Bernie Jones from the Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust to The Red House on Monday, September 7.

Bernie will tell the story of Wappenshall Wharf, a restored heritage site on the Thomas Telford Canal, and explain its importance to the region's canal history.

He will also talk about how the trust restored the Grade II-listed building and outline its plans for the site in the future.

The restoration has helped preserve Wappenshall Wharf for future generations, with a café and visitor centre now open to the public.

The talk starts at 7.30pm at The Red House, Albrighton. Visitors are welcome to attend for £3, payable on the door.

Parking is available on the High Street and at The Crown car park.
