Award-winning comedian to headline Oswestry comedy night
Stand-up acts, including local favourite Ben Shevlin, will perform at Oswestry Cricket Club's sixth comedy night, raising funds for its sustainability project
Five stand-up comedians will take to the stage when Oswestry Cricket Club hosts its sixth Comedy Club Night later this month.
The event takes place on Friday, November 13, at the club's Stonehouse Oval ground in Morda Road.
The line-up features award-winning comedian and headliner Dawn Bailey, American actor, writer and comedian John Ammirati, Manchester-born Faizan Adam and Oswestry comedian Ben Shevlin.
James Crook will return as compere, having hosted all five previous comedy nights.
Shevlin, who has become a favourite on the UK comedy circuit, turned to stand-up after a moped accident in Croatia 23 years ago left him with a lifelong brain injury. His self-deprecating humour has since helped establish him as a popular performer.
Bailey is known for her relatable northern humour and engaging stage presence, and has been dubbed the 'female Peter Kay'.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards Oswestry Cricket Club's sustainability project.
The event is for over-18s only. Tickets cost £15 and are available through Eventbrite by searching for Oswestry Cricket Club Comedy Night.
Doors open at 8pm, with the bar open until 11pm.
