The 34-year-old also discussed the ‘craziness’ of juggling parenthood with her and Robert Pattinson’s busy schedules.

British actress and singer Suki Waterhouse has said motherhood turned her into an “unrecognisable person”.

The 34-year-old, who starred in the hit TV series Daisy Jones & The Six, announced the birth of her daughter with Hollywood star Robert Pattinson in April 2024.

The star has opened up about the “craziness” of balancing parenthood with her busy touring schedule while her fiancé is often away filming.

In an interview with The Times, she said: “Our life since having our daughter, which is strange and backwards, hasn’t been anywhere.

“We’ve been in rentals and moving every couple of months and we just haven’t been home.

“It’s been wherever we can base ourselves and wherever we can stay together as a family.”

Waterhouse has toured across North America, Australia, the UK and Europe over the past two years, while Pattinson has been filming projects including Die My Love, The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime and Dune: Part Three.

“It’s quite hard to make something work where you’re both doing these kinds of jobs, when you don’t live in one place and you’re travelling a lot,” she added.

Waterhouse said she and Pattinson plan to take some “downtime” next year and decide where to settle.

She added: “I’m two-and-a-half years into motherhood now.

“I feel very confident that we’re great parents and juggling a slightly abnormal life, but I feel good about how we’re doing it and we are both just so connected to her.

“She’s such a wonderful, happy girl.”

The singer, known for songs including Good Looking, My Fun and Moves, also described herself as “quite structured” when it comes to parenting and said she enjoys sticking to a schedule.

“It means that (my daughter) is happy, and it means that the craziness and the chaos of being on tour works, because I stick to it,” Waterhouse said.

“My situation sounds strange, but we’re all out there trying to make it work.”

Waterhouse also discussed the importance of her work, particularly during the postpartum period.

She said: “I just wanted to get out what was going on at that time because I felt very vulnerable, very raw, very unsure.

“You kind of think, ‘oh, I’ll pop out a baby and I’ll go back to being myself, I’ll have it down’.

“It’s like, no. You’re humbled. You feel so unlike yourself because you’ve taken on this very unexpected personal transformation.

“The mother is birthed into an entirely new human, with a new brain, and you just become an unrecognisable person.”

Waterhouse has previously spoken about finding motherhood difficult, describing the experience as bringing her internal “turmoil” and making her feel as though her identity had been “cut open”.

She also discussed her relationship with Pattinson, whom she met in 2018 and has been engaged to since December 2023.

“It is almost a decade and that is a beautiful thing,” she told the newspaper.

“It’s a thing that I go, ‘I can’t believe that I have this in my life and I can’t believe that I’m so happy’.

“Maybe I was surprised because before I had only ever gone out with someone for two years – and if it was two years it would have been a disaster at the end.”

Asked about their wedding plans, Waterhouse added: “It would either be all or nothing.

“If we were going to go for it we’d have a massive party, blow it out.”
