Llandrindod Wells Children's Community Choir makes a wonderful debut at Llandrindod Wells Carnival

There were smiles all round as the Llandrindod Wells Children's Community Choir made its very first public performance at Llandrindod Wells Carnival on Saturday, marking the beginning of what organisers hope will be a long and successful musical journey for local children.

After just a few weeks of rehearsals, the choir took to the stage in front of an enthusiastic carnival audience, performing with confidence, energy and huge smiles despite the soaring summer temperatures.

The audience responded with warm applause and encouragement, making the occasion even more special for the young singers.

The choir was founded by lifelong friends Mandy Davies and Lorraine Cadwallader-Jones, who have shared a dream for a long time of creating a community children's choir where local youngsters could enjoy singing together, make new friends and gain confidence through music. Seeing that vision come to life on Saturday was an incredibly proud and emotional moment.

"We are absolutely thrilled with how the children performed," they said.

"They have worked so hard over the past few weeks, and to see them standing together in their new choir T-shirts, singing so confidently for their very first performance, was simply wonderful. We couldn't be prouder of every single one of them."

The organisers would like to thank all of the parents and families who have supported the choir from the very beginning by bringing children to rehearsals each week and encouraging them every step of the way.

Special thanks also go to the organisations and businesses whose generosity helped bring the choir to life. Steve Palmer, Mortgage & Protection Advisor, kindly sponsored the choir's new T-shirts, while Lee Percy of The Lake Boathouse and Quackers Play Centre sponsored the choir's new performance banners. Llandrindod Wells Town Council also provided a start-up grant, giving the project the support it needed to get off the ground.

The organisers hope this first performance is just the beginning for the choir, with many more opportunities to perform within the community and continue sharing the joy of music.
