Aswad to headline Farmer Phil's Music Festival

Having performed around the world since forming in the 1970s, reggae band Aswad have made themselves a household name.
And now they will be headlining a music festival in south Shropshire which is set to take place later this summer.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Farmer Phil's Music Festival has grown over the years and now attracts around 2,000 music lovers each year to its site at Near Gatten Farm, Ratlinghope, Shrewsbury.
What began as a small marquee and a trailer serving beer in 1998, the festival now has a second stage and comedy stage, workshops, stalls and children's stage. The rotating stage and arena have now moved to a new location overlooking the fishing lake and woodland.
Amongst the many bands performing over the weekend of August 10-12 are 90s band Dr and The Medics, Legend, Dan Owen, Fight The Bear, Jilted Generation, Jake & Elwood's Blues Brothers Show, Shoot The Moon, Cosmic Ninja and Asparagus & The Kilburn Habit.
There will also be an exotic zoo, which will bring dozens of animals to the festival.
Panic Circus will be housed inside their big top and putting on a packed programme of circus related activities for people of all ages. Junkfish have won awards for their work and will be bringing indoor and outdoor crafts to the festival.
Following its success last year, there will also be a cabaret tent. While serving up coffee and cake, there will be folk, punk poetry, musical activism, melodies and magic.
Organisers of the festival are on the lookout for volunteers before, during and after the festival. Stewards are needed at various locations around the site and volunteers are also needed for rubbish collecting and marshalling on the camping field.
Anyone wanting to volunteer should go to the Farmer Phil's website at www.farmerphilsfestival.com.
The campsite opens on August 6 and closed on August 13.
