Tom Cursons leads Boston to triumph over Gateshead

The winning goal came in the last moments of play.
Boston substitute Tom Cursons scored twice including a winner in the fifth minute of added time to leave the National League’s bottom club Gateshead 11 points adrift of safety.
Gateshead’s Jordy Hiwula broke the deadlock against his former club in the 37th minute, converting at the near post from Harry Chapman’s pass.
Jamie Grimes was denied an equaliser for fellow strugglers Boston when he finished from substitute Georgie Gent’s free-kick but a foul was given.
But after Chapman and Michael Spellman went close for the Heed and Lennon Wheeldon was denied by visiting goalkeeper and coach Pete Jameson, the equaliser eventually came from Cursons, following up after fellow sub Jack Holmes was denied by Jameson.
And Cursons struck again in added time to seal the visitors’ eighth straight league defeat, leaving them on just four points from 14 games.
