James Morrison challenged Callum Styles to get back to his best for West Brom

The 26-year-old made light of playing an unfamiliar role for the second game in a row to equalise against QPR.
Head coach James Morrison revealed he had challenged Callum Styles to prove his worth again after the full-back earned West Brom a point in a 1-1 draw against QPR.
Styles, 26, made light of playing an unfamiliar role for the second game in a row to equalise, cancelling out Chris Mepham’s own goal.
It extended the Baggies’ unbeaten home record to 11 games.
Styles was playing right-back as Morrison said Nolan Galves will be out for several months with a meniscus issue with his knee.
Morrison said: “I challenged Callum. He can’t just rest on being player of the season.
“He’s got to go and show it again. He’s been rewarded with a new contract and I didn’t want him to pick the big contract up and not be at that level of performance.
“I believe in Callum so much that I think I could play him anywhere and he would be just as good.
“I said to him ‘come inside onto your left foot and shoot’ and it was a great finish.
“He’s used to playing in midfield so he could come inside or he could stay wide.
“When he was younger he played as a winger and he’s played at wing-back, so it was just about trying to get that balance right with Rabby Nzingoula (right midfielder). I thought they dealt with it really well.”
Morrison had made five changes and felt there was some tiredness creeping into the performance after they dominated the first half.
He added: “We were caught with a sucker punch against the run of play.
“We lacked that final touch in the first half but we got a nice goal.
“I think in the second half we suffered from the games programme and showed a bit of fatigue.
“It was a bit end to end but we were still knocking on the door.”
QPR remain unbeaten on their travels this season despite fielding a team showing five changes.
Head coach Julien Stephan said: “When you face a team with very good confidence and strong results it’s really important to be strong in your foundation and our defensive organisation was brilliant.
“Usually we are better with the ball and are able to create more danger.
“Today it was more difficult for us to create with the ball, even if we had the best chance of the second half with Kwame Poku.
“But it was a lovely move for our goal. I enjoyed it because it was part of our game plan after the ball was regained to be able to use the space behind their centre-backs.”
QPR led through Mepham’s own goal in the 38th minute against the run of play.
Poku sent Rumarn Burrell racing clear and he turned Jayson Molumby before his shot forced Max O’Leary into a diving save, the rebound hitting Mepham on the head and bouncing into the unguarded net.
That lead lasted just three minutes as Styles curled home a low shot from just outside the area.
Albion had their chances as Aune Heggebo hit the stanchion behind the goal and Isaac Price, Molumby, Mepham and Styles all threatened.
Substitute Jimmy-Jay Morgan missed the chance to win it for Albion at the death when he blazed over.
Rangers had their chances too, with Poku and Burrell forcing O’Leary into saves.
