Forest Green Rovers come from behind to win opening day clash against Halifax

The visitors trailed early on but bounced back to pick up three points.
Forest Green Rovers opened their National League campaign with an impressive comeback 3-2 victory over Halifax.
Town led after just eight minutes when Will Flint bundled home a cross into the box from Ben Tollitt, and they clung on to that lead until half-time despite pressure from the home side which saw James Berry strike the post.
Rovers finally pulled level three minutes into the second half with on-loan defender Filozofe Mabete heading Kyle McAllister’s deep cross into the top right corner, and they were in front after 59 minutes thanks to a curling effort from Sean Etaluku.
McAllister then added a third 11 minutes from time, making the most of a poor clearance to stab the ball home, before Zak Gilsenan’s free-kick deep into stoppage time salvaged some pride for Halifax.
