Batman’s Batpod and Indiana Jones’s fedora among items in £10m film auction

The Propstore Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will include 1,400 lots.
Batman’s Batpod vehicle and Indiana Jones’s fedora are among the items on offer in a new film auction where all lots have a total value of £10 million.
Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will include more than 1,400 lots, including Batman’s suit, along with Jon Snow’s Longclaw sword and Daenerys Targaryen’s Drogon dragon egg from Game Of Thrones.
The Batpod motorcycle was used in The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and is estimated to sell for between £450,000 and £900,000, while the suit worn by Christian Bale as the superhero in Batman Begins (2005) is estimated to sell for between £125,000 and £250,000.

The Indiana Jones hat, worn by Harrison Ford’s stunt double Vic Armstrong, is being offered alongside a used stunt shirt from the stuntman’s personal collection, with both being used in Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom (1984).
The pair are expected to sell for between £400,000 and £800,000, with Indiana Jones’ eight-foot bullwhip from the same film also going to auction with a value of between £200,000 and £400,000.
Stephen Lane, founder and chief executive of Propstore, said: “The Batpod is an extraordinary feat of filmmaking and engineering, and a spectacular centrepiece for Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction.

“Bringing together Indiana Jones’ fedora, shirt, and bullwhip in the same catalogue is particularly exciting.
“These pieces define one of cinema’s most recognisable characters, and offering all three in a single auction is an extraordinary opportunity for collectors.
“With the fedora and shirt coming directly from legendary stunt performer Vic Armstrong’s personal collection, they also tell the story of the remarkable stunt work behind the adventure. We can’t wait to find new homes for these relics with collectors who will treasure their place in film history.”

The Longclaw sword, which was used by actor Kit Harington in Game Of Thrones between 2011 and 2019, carries an estimate of between £50,000 and £100,000, while the dragon egg used by Emilia Clarke is estimated to make between £20,000 and £40,000.
The auction will run for three days from December 4 to 6, with the first day seeing in-person bidding at Bafta’s 195 Piccadilly venue in London, with global phone, online and absentee bidding available for all three days.
There will also be a public exhibition at The Cumberland Hotel in London from November 19 to 22, giving fans a chance to see the items before they go on sale.
