Harper and Powell pocket Bridgnorth Snooker title
Maddocks duo double up for cup triumph
Maddocks' Paul Harper and Steve Powell proved to be a winning double act as they claimed the Bridgnorth Snooker League's Graham Cooper Doubles Cup.

They saw off the challenge of Shifnal's Ian Postans and Carl Walker in the final of the best-of-three, non-handicap knockout, made up of the possibility of two singles and one doubles.
The shootout for silverware took place at Broseley Social Club and Harper put Maddocks in front with a 55-22 victory over Postans.
Walker then responded for Shifnal by beating Powell 64-31 to set up a deciding doubles frame.
But there was no stopping the Maddocks duo as they triumphed 58-38 to clinch the cup and a fourth piece of silverware this season having already lifted the league title, Challenge Cup and 3-a-Side competition.
Blymhill’s Owen Hughes and Nick Carson also had cause for celebration after winning the Handicap Doubles final.
The action took place at St John’s club and they overturned a 30-point disadvantage in each frame against Chelmarsh duo Pete Skidmore and Luke Smallman.
The first frame saw Skidmore and Smallman extend their lead to 50 points, but a 33 break from Hughes changed the pattern of the game and eventually saw him pot the final black to go 1-0 up.
The second frame was a different story as Hughes and Carson and Nick quickly wiped out their disadvantage and moved into a 20-point lead before sealing the deal on the blue.
