West Brom make step in Felix Horn Myhre pursuit

Albion are keen to bring in Norway midfield star Felix Horn Myhre from Brann in his homeland.

Albion are said to have launched an official approach in the pursuit of SK Brann midfield Felix Horn Myhre, according to claims in Norway.

The Baggies are keen to bolster James Morrison’s midfield and see Norway international Myhre, 27, as a target.

And Norwegian to sources claim Albion have lodged a bid for Myhre.

The proposal was said to have gone to the Norwegian top flight club on Friday, though the fee is not yet known.

Spanish side Elche are long-term admirers of Myhre, one of the Eliteserien’s standout performers, and had already lodged their bid for the Brann man.

Morrison remained tight-lipped when asked by the Express & Star about interest in the Brann star.

He said: “I don’t want to talk about it (players) until they have signed.”

Albion and Brann have a relationship in place after striker Aune Heggebo was purchased in a £4.7million last summer.

Myhre helped Brann to the next stage of Uefa Conference League qualifying on Thursday and when asked about the reports after the game he admitted they were “a little bit tempting”.

But the midfielder added he was in the dark over his next steps.

It is understood Myhre will be involved for his club in a big league clash against Rosenborg on Sunday and he trained on Saturday.

Albion have made six summer signings so far and are still in the market for wingers and in central midfield. The season starts next weekend with an EFL Cup first round trip to Rotherham.
